Geok Hua Wong Charitable Trust

The Geok Hua Wong Charitable Trust (GWCT), based in Melbourne, was established in 2015 on the death of Dr Geok Hua Wong.

The GWCT works to realise the vision of Dr Wong who during his lifetime was a generous philanthropist.

Dr Wong’s wish was to provide funding for charitable purposes, particularly:

  • The relief of poverty
  • The advancement of health, education, religion, culture, social and public welfare
  • The general benefit of the community where donations from the GWCT will make a real impact.

Thanks to the support of the GWCT one of our students, Reema, has been able to pursue her dream of studying a Bachelor of Nursing. Reema is now in her final year of study.

Geok Wong has generously pledged further support for Meg’s into the future.

Mike Coen’s journey

In 2017 Mike Coen completed the ancient pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago (the Way of Saint James) and chose Meg’s Children to be the beneficiary of his associated fundraising efforts.

Mike has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of Meg’s, and to highlight the plight of those less fortunate than ourselves.

His journey along the Camino de Santiago saw him walk over 900km, totalling 1.56 million steps. His generous supporters sponsored each step along the Camino for Meg’s Children.

An amazing total of $34,800 was raised.
